The Palmer Lake Star
Volunteers built the star on Sundance Mountain in 1935, and the Palmer Lake Volunteer Fire Department has looked after it since 1937. It’s about 405 feet tall, lit by 92 bulbs, and shines every night from the Saturday after Thanksgiving through December. The fire department’s Chili Supper and Star Lighting marked its 90th anniversary on November 29, 2025.
