What we plan around in Monument

Palmer Divide snow

Monument sits on the south slope of the Palmer Divide, and Monument Hill on I-25 tops 7,352 feet. The Divide lifts winter storms: the Monument weather station averaged 110.6 inches of snow a year, more than three times Colorado Springs’ 32.5-inch normal, with 15.9 inches in an average November. We plan installs for clear days between storms.

December wind

During the December 15, 2021 windstorm, the National Weather Service recorded a 100 mph gust at the Air Force Academy, just south of Monument. Wind like that is why lights have to be fastened well, and why maintenance through the season is part of your price.

Tri-Lakes holiday traditions

The Palmer Lake Star, built on Sundance Mountain in 1935, is lit every night from the Saturday after Thanksgiving through December. Monument’s Small Town Christmas and Tree Lighting in Limbach Park reached its 64th year in 2025. Plenty of reason to have your own house lit by the first weekend of December.
